(Applause).<br><br>Those in attendance were invited to<br>introduce themselves. Members attending were<br>WB3ANE W3AZD W3MC W2YE K3PU K3ZO W3OU K3IO<br>N4MM W3KX CX1EK/W4 N3HMW W2GPS. Guests:<br>W2DLH K3SMC K1MU/XYL. (Note: Rick I<br>forgot to bring the attendance sheet back<br>with me so I may have missed someone).<br>Luis CX1EK commented that he had been an<br>NCDXA regular back in the days when the<br>officers included W3BWZ and W3ZN but had<br>been inactive for over 20 years and had<br>just recently become an active DXer<br>once again.<br><br>K1MU gave the treasurer's report. At the<br>February meeting the treasury amounted to<br>$4,170.69. Now it stands at $4,552.86.<br>K1MU was asked whether it was true<br>that last year's DXCC-East had made a<br>profit. He replied that indeed there<br>had been a small profit of approximately<br>$600 or $700 but only because K3LP and<br>W3MC had engaged in major arm-twisting toward<br>the end of the event to sell raffle tickets.<br><br>K1MU reported that the only significant piece<br>of correspondence that had been received by<br>the Association since the last meeting was a<br>request for donations from a group led by K4UEE<br>and K0IR among others, planning to activate<br>Amsterdam & St. Paul Islands (FT5Z) in<br>February 2014. <br><br>K3ZO reported that the NCDXA/ARRL Third Call<br>Area Incoming QSL Bureau has a new sorter<br>for the suffix letter "D" in the person of<br>N3WD, who has also begun to sell bureau<br>envelopes at several regional hamfests,<br>renewing a practice of the bureau that<br>had not been done for several years. Long-time<br>sorter WB3GOC has relinquished handling the<br>"S" suffix letter though she still sorts the<br>letter "G". Thus the bureau no longer has any<br>sorter who sorts more than one suffix letter. <br>Manager K3ZO will handle the "S" letter himself<br>for the time being.<br><br>N4MM gave the ARRL DX report. Developments<br>in Kosovo (Z6) and North Korea (P5) were<br>discussed. The ARRL has not yet approved<br>Kosovo as a DXCC entity even though CQ and<br>other award sponsors have added it to their<br>own country lists.<br><br>Under new business, W3MC proposed that NCDXA<br>contribute $1,000 to the proposed Amsterdam & St. Paul<br>DXpedition mentioned earlier. After approving an<br>amendment proposed by N4MM to reduce the amount<br>to $500, the members approved the proposal by voice vote.<br><br>K1MU was asked to detail the efforts in which he<br>and other IT expert volunteers have been engaged<br>to update and improve the ARRL's Logbook of the<br>World operation with the principal purpose to make<br>it more user-friendly by streamlining the online<br>interface. In outlining the various steps which<br>have been and are being taken, Rick reported that<br>the principal cause for recent problems has been<br>that a few frequent users have been uploading<br>their entire logs each time they access the system<br>instead of only adding the QSOs they have made since<br>they last logged in, because they do not understand<br>how to limit their entries to only the latest group<br>of QSOs. This has taxed the resources of the system<br>because some of these folks have been loading 50,000<br>QSOs or so into the system several times per month.<br><br><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>"K1MU announced that the June NCDXA Meeting will be held Saturday <br>June 15 at W3LPL's QTH in conjunction with his annual Open House,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>and the following meeting after that will be held Saturday, August 24<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>at the annual NCDXA/PVRC Fowlfest at the QTH of W3NRJ."<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><br>There being no further business, W3MC proposed and<br>WB3ANE seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
